Counseling Information

  1. The Counseling Office will be relocated to the filed side of the E Building during remodeling. Several of the counselors and Mrs. CCohan will be located in Room E-108. Mrs. Carrington (counselor), Project Success, and the other counseling clerical staff (New Student Enrollment, Records/Transcripts) will be located in Room E-107.
  2. Office hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
  3. Counselors are assigned to students alphabetically by their last name. The counseling services include academic advisement and high school planning, college advisement and career counseling, personal and social counseling.   4. The Counselor of the Day program ensures the students an opportunity to talk to a counselor every day at lunch for quick questions and assistance.
  5. The College & Career Center (with College Representative visits) as well as the ROP program (including student work permits) will remain upstairs in the counseling office until the first week of December when they will be relocated to the A Building during remodeling. (The specific room will be announced at a later date.)

Announcements

  1. Look for the updates on the move to the NEW Counseling Office which will include all the counseling staff, the College and Career Center and the ROP Program in the H Building when it opens within the next month.
  2. CSU College Application Priority Window: Oct 1-Nov 30; refer to the www.csumentor.edu for further information.
  3. UC College Application Deadline: Nov 1 - Nov 30; refer to the www.universityofcalifornia.edu website for further information (you will be able to access the UC application in October to start your applicatioin, which can be submitted beginning Nov 1st.)
  4. NAVIANCE is coming to WHS! Seniors are scheduled to participate in assigned workshops with the counselors and counseling staff August 31st and September 1st. A handout will be available to seniors which outlines the process for college recommendations and Naviance will also offer a link to the "Common Application".
